Kathryn Ann (Mularoni) Vassalo

  Kathryn Ann (Mularoni) Vassalo, 89, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully late Tuesday afternoon, April 10,2018, surrounded by her family at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.
   Born on June 8,1928, in Sandusky, OH the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Riccardi) Mularoni.  She was a 1946 graduate of Sandusky High School. Kathryn, in years passed, had worked at  the W. T. Grant Department Store and later at the Flippens Junior Boot Shop.
   Kathryn was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and Our Mothers Light of Love Cenacle Prayer Group.
   She is survived by two daughters,Marcia (Dale) Oglesbay of Columbia, MO and Lisa (Craig) Irwin of Lancaster, SC; five grandchildren, Peter (Beth) Vassalo, Kerry (Todd) Daniels, Annemarie (Luke) Forrest, Jason (Elaine) Oglesbay and Natalie Irwin; eight great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Vicki Vassalo of Troy,MI; a sister, Mary Louise Harding of Tiffin; a sister-in-law, Judy Mularoni of Huron; and numerous nieces and nephews.
  Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years, Nicholas Anthony "Nick" Vassalo, Sr. on August 9, 2008; her son, Nicholas A. Vassalo, Jr. (2010); and her brother, Angelo Mularoni (2017).
   The family will receive friends on Friday morning, April 13, 2018, from 9 am until time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Fr. Joe Steinbauer officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
   In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870.
   Arrangements are entrusted to the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.
