John Clayton Walters

John C. Walters, 85, of Sandusky, passed away early Wednesday morning, November 15, 2017, at the Providence Care Center, Sandusky.
   Born on March 10, 1932, in Norwalk, OH the son of John Clayton and Delores (Winters) Walters.  He was a veteran, having served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.  John  had worked for the Sandusky Ford Motor Company for 38 years, retiring in 2001.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #83 and had been a member of the U.A.W. Local.  He loved watching western movies especially with John Wayne and also loved his sports.  He would do anything for anyone.
   He is survived by three sons, John (Penny) Walters of Newnan, Georgia, Jeff (Kim) Walters and Jody Walters of Sandusky; seven grandchildren, Megan, Jared, Josh, Jacob, Ileta, Matt and Marissa; 10 great-grandchildren, Jimmy, Noah, Avery, Mason, Adley, Olivia, Priscilla, Kylee, Addison and Emma; nieces and nephews.
   John was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 54 years, Marlene J. (Rickenbaugh) Walters, on July 13, 2010; two sons, Joey in infancy and James Walters; a grandson, Mark Butz; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Walters; three sisters, Patricia Marshall, Marvel Dennison and Darlene Lynch; two brothers, Donald and Harold Walters; and his step-father, Arthur Jamison.
   At his request cremation has taken place.  The Walters family will receive friends on Monday morning, November 20, 2017, from 10:30 am until time of the memorial service at 12 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Chaplain Mel Sayler of Stein Hospice officiating.  Interment will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, OH.
   The family suggests that memorial contribution may be made in his memory to Stein Hospice Service, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
