Joan E. "Annie" Brown, 87, of Sandusky, passed away late Thursday afternoon, May 3, 2012, at Parkvue Health Care Center, Sandusky.
Born on June 29, 1924, in Sandusky, the daughter of the late Clarence and Zelma (Zeller) Nesselhauf. Joan was a graduate of Sandusky High School. She had retired from District Petroleum, where she had worked as a secretary for many years.
Joan bowled for over 50 years in various Ladies Leagues throughout the area. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, Charlie, and spent many days fishing for walleye and perch on Sandusky Bay. Joan also enjoyed bike riding with her husband and they could be seen all over town riding together, well into their 80's. She also enjoyed spending the winters in Florida. Joan especially enjoyed going 2 - 3 times a week, to Baywinds Athletic Club with her best friend, Mary Forrest. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Joan is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Dan) Kelderhouse of Sandusky; son, Craig (Denna) Faber of Arizona; granddaughter, Sarah (Paul) Grote of Old Hickory, TN; grandson, Brandon (Erika) Kelderhouse of St. Louise, MO; great-granddaughters, Lola and Lucy Grote; step-daughter, Shelley (Paul) Mallue of Canton; step-grandsons, Alex and Nate Mallue; brother-in-law, Lyle (Mary Jane) Faber of Sandusky; nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she also was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward J. Faber (1969); son, Gary E. Faber (1994); second husband of 36 years, Charles A. "Charlie" Brown (April 2, 2011); sister, Lois Hummel; brother, Jack Nesselhauf.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, from 12 PM until time of the funeral services at 2 PM at the David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave, Sandusky. Rev. John Mawhirter officiating. Entombment will be held in the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Sandusky.
