Joan K (Wichman) Boone

   Joan K. Boone, 83, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, August 30, 2017, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.
   Born on April 13, 1934, in Sandusky, OH the daughter of Carl Frederick and Mary Alberta (Boos) Wichman.  Over the years,  she had worked as a bookkeeper and receptionist at the  Cedar Point Amusement Park, Cohn's Boutique, the Unemployment Office and later for Dr. Fidler, before retiring in 2008.  Joan was always on the go and loved traveling with her husband, Le Roy, especially being his personal navigator on their road trips across the country side.  In years past, she enjoyed working on puzzles, playing cards, bowling, cross stitching and camping.
   Joan is survived by her husband of 62 years, Le Roy E. Boone, whom she married on October 6, 1954; a daughter, Lois (Brian Czaplicki) Boone;  two sons, Jack (Brenda) Boone and Jerry (Silke) Boone; nine grandchildren, Brandi (John) Rooney, Dr. Tiffany (Chad) Taylor, Jeremy (Courtney) Boone, Ashley (Tom) Walsh, Stephanie (Todd) Spore, Michelle (Shawn McLaughlin) Boone, Aubrey, Jocelyn and Rachel Boone; 10 great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Makayla Rooney, Mason, Mitchell and Madelyn Boone, Isla and Fisher Walsh, Alexa, Joseph and Giuliana Spore.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Lynn C. Boone (November 25, 1995); and a sister, Marilyn Walker.
   Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2017, from 4-6 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Following visitation, at her request cremation will take place.  Interment will be held at a later date in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, OH.
   In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Stein Hospice Service, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
