Jean L. (Alber) Boos, 91, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Friday evening, May 24, 2019, at The Willows at Bellevue, in Bellevue, OH.
Born on April 3, 1928, in Sandusky, OH the daughter of John and Luise (Goelz) Alber. Jean was a 1946 graduate of Sandusky High School. She had worked at the Sandusky Register as a proof reader and a typist and later went on to work at the State of Ohio Collection Bureau, before retiring. Jean enjoyed playing cards, but she especially loved spending time with her family and the grandchildren. She was an avid Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers fan who looked forward to watching all their games, and could answer most any question about players, statistics and scores.
She was a lifelong member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ and had been active at the Senior Center over the years.
Jean is survived by a daughter, Diana (Stanley) Brooks of Fort Myers, FL; two sons, William (Jo Ellen) Boos of Bellevue and Daniel Boos of Rocky River; four grandchildren, Christopher (Patty) Brooks, Brian (Kari) Boos, Hannah Post and Lindsay Craig; four great-grandchildren, Ryan McDonald, Carter Post, Reagan and Owen Boos; and a brother, William Alber of Winter Haven, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 57 years, Owen E. Boos on August 16, 2003; and a son in infancy, Ronald Boos (1952).
At her request, the funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
