Janet Merlyn (Fairfield) Steinen

   Janet M. (Fairfield) Hudson Steinen, 82, of Huron, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, January 6, 2020, at her daughters' home in Sandusky.
   Born on August 15, 1937, in Sandusky, OH the daughter of Henry Merle and Marie Frances (Boos) Fairfield.  She was a 1955 graduate of St. Mary's High School.  For over 30 years, Janet had done volunteer work for her church and for a variety of local charities.
   She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Society.
   Janet is survived by her husband, Gilbert D. "Gil" Steinen of Huron, whom she married in 2013; her two daughters, Terry (Wayne) Kaye of Port St. Lucie, FL and Judy Hudson of Sandusky; her two sons, Steve and Mark Hudson of Sandusky; a sister, Carole (Larry) Tight of Sandusky; her special niece and nephews, Vonnie (Tom), Rick (Sharon), Drew (Susan), Scott Gundlach and Mike Hudson; a stepdaughter, Linda Steinen of Akron; and a stepson, Gary Steinen of Colorado.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, George J. "Sonny" Hudson on November 21, 2007; and a sister, Audrey Hartman.
   It was Janet's wish to be cremated.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday morning, January 14, 2020, from 9 am until time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Fr. Chris Jesudhason officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
   In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870.
