Ian Michael Bower, 21, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly early Wednesday afternoon, April 18, 2018, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.
Born on September 17,1996, in Sandusky, the son of Joseph E. and Mary M. Bower. He was a 2014 graduate of Perkins High School and EHOVE Career Center. Ian has been working at Precision Body and Frame as an auto detailer. He will be remembered by his family for his love of music, art and writing. Ian enjoyed fishing, kayaking and going to Big Bass Lake in Irons, Michigan. Friends and family will fondly remember his engaging smile, witty sense of humor and his heart of gold.
He is survived by his mother, Mary M. Bower; his father, Joseph E. Bower, both of Sandusky; his maternal grandmother, Mary Agnes Hieshetter of Grand Rapids, MI; his paternal grandmother, Rose Ann Bower of Bay View; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Ian was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William Hieshetter; and his paternal grandfather, Charles I. Bower, Sr.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, from 4-7 pm in the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church Gathering Space, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday morning, April 26, 2018, at 10 am in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Fr. Matt Frisbee officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Sandusky.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to the Sandusky Artisans Recovery Community Center, 138 E. Market Street, Sandusky,OH 44870.
