Gary Gene Fresch

Gary G. Fresch, 67, residing in Sandusky, passed away peacefully late Sunday morning, November 12, 2017, surrounded by his loved ones in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.

He was born on October 18, 1950 in Sandusky to Gene Dominic and Juanita (Wright)  Fresch and was the oldest of two children.  Gary received a catholic education from Holy Angels and Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Schools in his youth and was a 1968 graduate of Perkins High School and attended Ashland College in Ashland, Ohio. He excelled in sports while at Perkins and his love of sports continued throughout his life.

He was employed by Clevite Harris in Milan, Ohio in his early years and later relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada where he began a successful, professional career in the gaming industry. He held various positions at the Fremont, Star Dust, Marina, and later,The Excalibur.  Upon his return to Ohio, he worked for R & L Carriers until his illness overcame him.  Gary loved fishing, whether it was in Lake Erie or the ocean in Florida. He was also an avid follower of sports teams and enjoyed playing the piano and listening to music of all kinds. He loved his family and liked spending time with family.

Gary is survived by his parents, Gene and Juanita Fresch, sister Kim (Dan) Gleason, two children, Dionne and Eric (Jennifer), niece Alexandra (Grigore) Onica, five grandchildren, Cecile Wolf, Camille Karrin, Reese Fresch, Dominic Fresch, Micky Fresch, his long time dear friend, Judy Bahnsen, and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ezra and Hattie Wright; and paternal grandparents, Felix and Dorothy Fresch.

At his request, cremation has taken place.  The family will receive friends Friday morning November 17, 2017, from 9:00 am until time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Holy Angels Church, 428 Tiffin Ave, Sandusky, Ohio. Fr. Matt Frisbee officiating.
