Edward Eugene Kurzenberger

 Edward E. Kurzenberger, 86, of Sandusky, formerly of Cleveland, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, January 16, 2018, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky, as he went Home to be with The Lord.
   Born on January 1, 1932, in Cleveland, OH the son of Edward Louis and Margaret (Neff) Kurzenberger.  He was a veteran having served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  Edward was proud of being a "Third Generation" owner of Peoples Choice Meats on Kamm's Corner, in Cleveland.  He was an avid boater, it was truly his life, but his first love was especially his family, which he lived for, and his second love was his cats.
   Edward was a devoted member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, in Sandusky, and had been long time member of St. Richard's Catholic Church in N. Olmsted; he also was a lifetime member of the Berea Power Squadron and a Past Commader.
   He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joan M. (Hinkel) Kurzenberger, whom he married on July 1, 1952; his family, Lynne M. (George) Kantura, Gail A. Corrigan, Edward L. (fiancee, Patricia Herrick) Kurzenbeerger and Sheryl A. (Robert J.) Hess; a devoted grandfather to 13 grandchildren,  Monica, Jordan, Robert, Jr., Rochelle, Gary, Margaret, Alexandra, Donald E., Kelsey, Brian, Edward E., Nina, and George; a beloved great-grandfather to 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lois (Byron) Ayers.
  Edward was preceded in death by his parents; a great-grandson, Zachary Gerard, Jr.; and 2 sisters, Karen Polansky and Elaine Bakoss.
   Visitation will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018, from 4-8 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Prayers will be recited Saturday morning, January 20, 2018, at 9:40 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Fr. Jeff Walker officiating.  Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Color Guard Post #83.   Graveside services will be held Saturday afternoon, January 20, 2018, at 3:30 pm at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, in Brook Park, OH.
