Dolores Margaret (Reed) Ritzenthaler

 Dolores M. (Reed) Ritzenthaler, 97, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, June 5, 2018, in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
   Born February 10, 1921, in Sandusky, she was the daughter of Martin and Margaret Agnes (Schmid) Reed.  Dolores was a 1939 graduate of St. Mary's High School.  Over the years, she had worked at Russell's Flower Shoppe and later at Beilstein Cleaners.  Dolores for over 50 years had volunteered, 40 years at Providence Hospital and then 10 years at Firelands Hospital.  For her service, she received the "Volunteer of the Year" and the "Woman of Excellence" Awards.  She loved golfing and had been a member of the Women Golf League at Mills Creek. for 30 years.  Dolores had also worked the Election Board for 60 years.
   She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Society.
   Dolores is survived by a daughter, Beth Beatty of Huron; and a son, Philip (Carol) Ritzenthaler of Powell; two grandchildren, Shawn and Andrew; and six great-grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 73 years, James F. "Jim" Ritzenthaler on December 26, 2016; and two brothers, Cletus and Donald Reed.
   Visitation will be held from 9:15 a.m. Friday morning, June 8, 2018, until time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky.  Fr.  Matt Frisbee officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
