Dolores Josephine (Becks) Frawley

Dolores J. Frawley, 89, of Sandusky, formerly of Parma, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, November 14, 2017, at the Commons of Providence Memory Care Center in Sandusky.

              Dolores was born on June 23, 1928, in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Anton and Rosa (Wenzel) Becks.

Being the youngest of fourteen children, Dolores cherished her eleven older brothers and two sisters that always made sure she had money for the movies during the Great Depression.  Playing six instruments and portraying Jo in the high school play Little Women were fond memories for Dolores. Her professional life started after her graduation from Gem City Business College.  After World War II, she met and married Navy veteran, Richard Frawley, in 1949.  She raised their five children while working with her husband at their family business.  In her younger years, Dolores enjoyed playing golf and bridge.  In 1999, Dolores retired and moved to the Sandusky area.  She joined Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.  Throughout her life, Dolores had a special devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, St. Anthony of Padua, and praying the rosary. Dolores treasured all of her children and grandchildren and was proud of their accomplishments. 

               Dolores is survived by three daughters, Roseann (Mark) Madden of N. Olmsted, Barb (Jim) Jaworski of Crown Point, IN and Jackie (Dr. Rick) Visci of Sandusky; two sons, Richard (Grace) Frawley, Jr. of Gilbert, AZ and John (Becky) Frawley of Ravenna; 16 grandchildren, Jill Frawley, Kelly Bernard, Heather Bello, Matthew Frawley, Amy Hunter, M ark, Sarah, Michael,  Scott, Therese, and Patrick Madden, Jim Jaworski, Lisa Scully, Anthony, Katie and Lauren Visci; 13 great-grandchildren, Blake, Preston, Francesca, Sawyer, Maisie, Corey, Bridget, Ashlyn, Aubrey, Miles, Grayson, Mackenzie, Jack and one on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

               She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of forty-nine years, Richard Frawley, Sr. (1999); 11 brothers and two sisters.

              At her request cremation has taken place.  Private family services will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Sandusky. Inurnment will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, in Brookpark, OH.

              The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Stein Hospice Service, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870 or to one's favorite charity.
