Delbert “Pete” William Wobser

January 25, 1929 ~ January 15, 2018 (age 88)

 Delbert W. "Pete" Wobser, 88, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly early Monday morning, January 15, 2018, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.
     Born on January 25, 1929, in Venice, Ohio, he was the son of William and Esther Agnes (Meyers) Wobser.  He was a 1947 graduate of Margaretta High School in Castalia, Ohio.  Pete worked at Medusa Cement from 1947 until 1960 as a Physical Chemist and then at the Sandusky Foundry and Machine for nearly 35 years, retiring in 1994.
     In his earlier days, he enjoyed playing bingo but especially loved bowling.  He bowled in the Sandusky City League for many years and had been a champion in both singles and double tournaments.  He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
     Pete is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia A. (Michel) Wobser, whom he married on June 13, 1953; his family, Donna Bailey, Lori (Roger) Brown, Kathy (Tom) Wobser, Gary (Carol) Wobser, all of Sandusky, and Jeff (Amy) Wobser of Hilliard, OH, Joe (Libby) Wobser of Parma, OH, and Tricia (Dave) White of Toledo, OH; 22 grandchildren, Tori, Tony, Tara, Scott, Tami, Dana, Tommy, Kyle, Melissa, Katie, Adam, Alexis, Emily, Christopher, Ryan, Cameron, Justin, D.J., Dominic, Tessa, Mark, and Christine; 23 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
     He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michel J. Wobser in 1993; three sisters, Audrey (Jenkins) Taylor, Marilyn Vassar and Judy Limberious; brother, Jerry Wobser; and a great-grandson, Zayne Jacob Shupp.
     Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 17, from 4 - 8 PM at David F. Koch Funeral & Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Ave, Sandusky.  Prayers will recited Thursday morning, January 18, at 9:30 AM at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave, Sandusky.  Fr. Joe Steinbauer officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
