Charles ‘Chuck’ F Baum

 Charles F. "Chuck" Baum, 72, of Sandusky, passed away Friday morning, October 11, 2019, at Firleands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.
   Born on September 6, 1947, in Sandusky, OH the son of Frederick Carl and Eunice Mae (Kaufman) Baum.  Chuck was a 1965 graduate of Sandusky High School.  He was a veteran, having served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was a recipient of a Bronze Star.  Chuck had worked at New Departure-Hyatt Inc. (Division of General Motors) for over 35 years, retiring in 2004.
   After retiring he joined the Sandusky Pool League and shot pool for Stationhouse and had also enjoyed going camping with the neighbor.
   He had been a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the U.A.W. Local # 913.
   Chuck is survived by his son, Carl F. Baum of Sandusky; five grandchildren, Charles J., Brandon M. (Josh) and Tyler R. Evans, Allison and Corey Baum; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barb (Walt) Zeck of Casa Grande, AZ and Patricia (Ronald) Zielske of Sandusky; three brothers, Gerald (Diane) Baum of Sandusky, Ronald (Kathy) Baum of Bay View and Tom (Carol) Baum of Sandusky; nieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 34 years, Carol A. (Schirg) Baum on March 30, 2004; a daughter, Annette Evans; and a brother, Don Baum.
   Visitation will be held on Friday morning, October 18, 2019, from 10 am until time of funeral services at 11 am at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Deacon Carolyn Steinfeldt of Zion Lutheran Church officiating.  Entombment will be in the Meadow Green Memorial Park Mausoleum, Huron, OH.
   The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in his memory to one's favorite charity.
