Carol Ann (Pfanner) Demres
May 18, 1940 ~ October 3, 2017 (age 77) 77 Years Old Carol A. (Pfanner) Demres, 77, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Tuesday evening, October 3, 2017, surrounded by her family at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.
Born on May 18, 1940, in Sandusky, OH the daughter of George and Dorothy (Grundler) Pfanner. She was a 1958 graduate of Sandusky High School. Carol was an avid game player, enjoyed reading and loved watching her favorite TV shows. She will be remembered by her family as loving to cook for family dinners and raising her grandchildren. Carol was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church where she was a member of the bereavement committee.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Raymond J. Demres, whom she married on September 3, 1960; two daughters, Lori J. Demres and Lisa M. Schwerer, both of Sandusky; a granddaughter, Danielle M. Schwerer of Sandusky; a grandson, Douglas C. Moore of Sandusky; a brother, David (Mary Lou) Pfanner of Sandusky; and several nieces and nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter in infancy, Christine M. Demres; a sister, Jean (Pfanner) Girardi; and three brothers, James, Robert and Richard Pfanner.
At her request, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends on Saturday morning, October 7, 2017, from 9 am until time of the Mass of Christian burial at 10 am at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Avenue, Sandusky. Fr. Joe Steinbauaer officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870 or to one's favorite charity.
Arrangements are entrusted to the David F. Koch Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.
