Carl G. "Pop" Bruehler, 73, of Bellevue, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, December 9, 2018, surrounded by the ones that he loved at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.
Born on August 11, 1945, in Akron, OH the son of Carl Frederick and Mary Catherine (Murtaugh) Bruehler. He had graduated from Ellet High School, Akron, in 1965 and The University of Akron with an Associate Degree in Business. Carl was a veteran having served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. For many years he had worked as a supervisor at I.A.C. and Visteon Corporation, before retiring. After retiring, he went on to work at the Renaissance House Inc., for a few years.
He loved The Ohio State University Buckeyes, but he especially enjoyed spending time with the family and the grandchildren. He will be remembered by his family as a fabulous cook and how he loved to put on dinners at home for the whole family. Carl was a member of the V.F.W. in Clyde, OH.
Survived by his wife, Scarlet A. (Wilson) Bruehler; his three sons, Bart (Anne) Bruehler of Marion, IN, Brad (Jessica) Bruehler of Akron, OH and Kory Love of Bellevue, OH; his daughter, Lexi Wilcox of Sandusky; nine grandchildren, Samuel, Soren, Pascal, Aiden, Onistee, Cameron, Elanor, Micaela and Braxton; nieces and nephews; and best friends, John Voelzke and Jamie Redmond.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018, from 3 pm until time of the funeral services at 6 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Rev. Harvey Studer officiating. Following the services it was Carl's wish to be cremated.
