Candace L Close

Candace L. Close, 72, of Sandusky,  passed away early Monday afternoon, June 3, 2019, in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
   Born on April 21, 1947, in Sandusky, OH the daughter of Robert John and MaryLee (Graefe) Close.  Candace received degrees from Cazenovia College, Alma College and her Masters Degree from Cleveland State University.  In her earlier days, she taught kindergarten, but then devoted the bulk of her time as a social worker.  She will be remembered for how she was devoted to the care and benefit of the handicapped.   Candace last worked as an office manager of the NCOAAI and she had 13 years of sobriety.
   She is survived by a loving sister, Stephanie North; and a brother, David Close; and her faithful cat, Monkey.
   Candace was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Michael J. Close.
   Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2019, from 5-7 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Funeral services will be held Friday morning, June 14, 2019, at 11 am at the funeral home.  Rev. Lenore Kure of First Congregational United Church of Christ officiating.  It was her wishes to be cremated following the services.  Private interment  services will be held at a later date in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
   The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Stein Hospice Service, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870 or to the Humane Society of Erie County, 1911 Superior Street, Sandusky, OH 44870.
