  Albert Joseph "Abe" Fresch, 91, of Huron, passed away peacefully late Friday morning, September 15, 2017. in the loving arms of his daughters at his home.
   Born on April 8, 1926, in Sandusky, OH the son of Joseph and Theresa (Lombardy) Fresch.  Albert was a 1944 graduate of Sandusky High School.  After graduating, he went on to serve in the U.S. Army during W.W. II having received 2 Bronze Battle Stars and a Purple Heart with One Oak Leaf Cluster.  After being honorably discharged from the service he then attended The Ohio State University for a short time.
   Albert later came home and joined his mother and father at the family business, Fresch Electric (founded in 1946), where he continued working till the age of 86 years old, retiring in September 2012.  At the same time,  he had owned and operated multiple games at Cedar Point, for many years  to help support his growing family.  Albert was an avid investor and entrepreneur in his community.  His business ventures included shopping plazas, medical centers, houses, boat houses, condos and other real estate properties and developments.  Kelleys Island held a special place in his and his family's heart.  He developed the Sweet Valley subdivision and was part-owner of the Casino.  In 1978, he and his family purchased, Fresch's Island House, which they ran together for 20 years.  Albert was often lovingly referred to as the "Head Dishwasher."  Most recently, he was humbled to receive the 2016 Erie County Gallery of Achievers Award.    Albert over the years, enjoyed fishing, boating, gardening and spending time with his beloved family.
    He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, the IBEW Local 867/129 Electrical Union (where he had served on the Apprentice Board), the National Electrical Contractors Association, the Alpha Phi Delta (the Italian Fraternity at OSU), the Knights of Columbus (Third and Fourth Degree), the I.A.B. Club, life member of the Sandusky Elks Lodge, AMVETS, the American Legion, the V.F.W. and the Sandusky Yacht Club.
   Albert is survived by his son, Danny (Lizabeth) Fresch; three daughters, Sally (Craig) Dwight, Carol (Joe) Greene and Terese (Duke Hermes) Miller; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and one more on the way; two sisters, Nancy Coker and Christine Snyder; numerous nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life, his wife of 68 years, Marilyn J. "Torchy" (Siehl) Fresch on June 17, 2015; two sons, Joseph and Kim Fresch (2016); his grandson, A.J. Fresch (2015); a brother, Dominic Fresch; a sister, Marion Fresch; a son-in-law, David Wolf (1997); and a step-grandson, Kurt Greene (2016).
   Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, from 3-8 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Prayers will be recited Thursday morning, September 21, 2017, at 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Avenue, Sandusky.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.  Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #83 Color Guard.
