Mark Zezeck Obituary

Mark L. "The Shark" Zezeck, 72, of Sandusky passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, March 11, 2024, at his home.

   Born on March 7, 1952, in Meriden, Connecticut the son of Harold and Mildred Esther (Meyer)Zezeck.  He was a 1970 graduate of OH Platt High School in Meriden, CT.  Mark had worked as a millwright for New Departure-Hyatt Inc. (a Division of General Motors)  for 34 years, before retiring in 2006.

   In his younger days he had played for a couple of years in the New York Yankees Minor League organization.  Over the years he had enjoyed playing darts, boating, fishing, hunting (especially pheasants), but mostly on the weekends he enjoyed heading out and cruising around in his corvette.  Mark was a member of the Huron Conservation League.

   He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lynette (Magi) Zezeck, whom he married on June 7, 1993; his daughter, Ashley (Brandon) Perkins; and his stepchildren, Donnie (Kelly) Nemitz, Alesha (Jon) Wollenslegel and Derick Nemitz; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his two sisters, Marcia (John) Curtis and Connie (Dan) McDermet; a brother, Craig (Jane) Zezeck; and several nieces and nephews. 

   Mark was preceded in death by his parents; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

   It was his wish to be cremated.  A "Celebration of Mark's Life" will be held at a later date.

   The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

   Arrangements are entrusted to the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.
