Marie E. Ricotta, 72, of Dayton, formerly of Sandusky, left on the wings of an angel to be with Dad on April 16, 2012.
On July 29, 1939, Mom was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She moved to Sandusky when she finished school, making it her permanent home to raise her family. She retired in 2001, from Delphi (Division of General Motors) after 30 years of service. Mom's passion was working in her flower gardens, she would spend many hours outside doing what she loved the most. Her yard was the prettiest in the neighborhood.
She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, but had attended Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Dad. Mom had also volunteered at Care and Share.
Mom will be terribly missed by her children, son, Bob (Patti) Steler of Sandusky along with her two granddaughters, Bobbi and Amber (Kevin Yost) Steler, great-granddaughter, Noelle Yost; daughter, Debbie (Scott) Mellon of Dayton, along with two grandsons, Jordan and Brandan (fiancee, Tasha Whitt) Mellon, great-grandchildren, Kelsi, Daron, Ethan and Kylah Mellon; her youngest son, Pete (Tricia) Ricotta of Canajoharie, NY; two brothers, Clayton (Sharon) Loehn of Plymouth, OH and John (Lynn) Loehn of Port Richey, FL; sister, Charlotte (John) Aschenbrenner of Lawrence KS; she also leaves behind two special sister-in-laws and a brother-in-law, Margarette (Andy) Harenchar of Mt. Pleasant, PA and Marie Ricotta of Avon Lake;her fur babies, Kiko and Kitty whom will be lost without her; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Pete Ricotta on May 25, 2000; her parents, Anthony and Charlotte (Brow) Ciresi; and a special sister-in-law, Antoinette Grimm.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 20, 2012, from 4-7 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Services will begin Saturday morning, April 21, 2012, at 9:40 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
