Emily May (Carnegie) Andrews, 91, of Bellevue, became one of Heaven's Angels early Thursday evening, April 12, 2012, at The Willows at Bellevue, Bellevue, OH.
Emily was born September 25, 1920 in Sandusky, OH the daughter of the late Richard and Charlotte (Gandier) Carnegie. She was a 1938 graduate of Sandusky High School and a 1945 graduate of M.B. Johnson School of Nursing, Elyria, OH. She was a registered nurse at Memorial Hospital in Sandusky, worked as a private-duty nurse and retired from The Arbors at Clyde Nursing Center, Clyde, OH in 1995. She loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren. Emily enjoyed reading and writing, especially she enjoyed keeping a journal of her life and documenting everything that happened. She truly loved the different activities at The Willows of Bellevue, especially participating in Wii bowling. She was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church, Bellevue.
Emily is survived by, two sons, Dale (Ginny) Andrews of Green Springs and Roger (Diane) Andrews of Sandusky; five grandchildren, Julie, Kimberly, Ashlee, Christopher and Lindsay; seven great-grandchildren, Mason, Dylan, Brianna, Collin, Colby, Brodie and Jonah; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Besides her parents, she also was preceded in death by her husband, Denver Andrews in 1981; daughter, Dawn Marie in 1953; two brothers, Dr. William B. Carnegie and Arthur B. Carneige; three sisters, Mary Alice Stegman, Nellie F. Kraus and Elsie L. Speer.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, from 4-7 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon, April 18, 2012, at 1 pm at the funeral home. Rev. Gene Smercina officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
