Paul W. Siegel, 88, of Sandusky, passed away early Friday evening, April 6, 2012, in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
Born on April 29, 1923 in Sandusky, OH the son of the late Ferdinand and Anna Maude (Ebert) Siegel. Paul was a 1942 graduate of Bellevue High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during W.W. II. Paul had worked for the Sandusky Baking Company for many years and was a retired self-employed carpenter. He enjoyed playing golf.
Paul was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, life member of the Sandusky Elks Lodge, the AMVETS and the V.F.W., a member of the Sandusky Orioles Club, the United Commercial Travelers of America and a former member of the Italian-American Beneficial Club.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Beatrice E. "Bea" (Provenzale) Siegel, whom he married on January 8, 1980; three daughters, Peg (Bill) Batz of Hamilton, Paula (Sam) Barone of Mt. Vernon, and Kay Siegel of Toledo; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; 2 step-children, Bob Niehm, Jr., Judy Schneider; 6 step-grandchildren; 11 step-great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he also was preceded in death by a sister, Murland E. Siegel; three brothers, Ferdinand, Raymond and Wilfred Siegel.
At his request cremation will take place. The family will receive friends Friday morning, April 20, 2012, from 10 AM until time of the Memorial Mass in the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church Gathering Space, 520 Columbus Ave, Sandusky. The Memorial Mass will be held at 11 AM in the church. Inurnment will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #83 Honor Guard.
