   John P. "Jack" Colvin, 82, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, August 19, 2017, surrounded by his family at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.
   Born on August 30, 1934, in Sandusky, OH the son of Leon and Marian (Remlinger) Colvin.  Jack was a 1952 graduate of Sandusky High School and later graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served honorably during the Korean Conflict as a navigator aboard the KC-97, a refueling air plane.  He was honorably discharged from active duty on September 28, 1972 holding the rank of Captain.  Jack retired from the Sandusky Ford Motor Company where he had worked for nearly 30 years.
   He will be remembered for being very dedicated to his Christian Faith, especially after his experience on May 26, 1979, he was truly fulfilled with his faith and belief in The Lord.  Jack walked with The Lord on earth and now he walks with Him in Heaven.
   Over the years, Jack had served two terms as a City Commissioner, as well as, he and his family had owned and operated "The Popcorn Wagon" which they would later donate to the City of Sandusky.  He also had done volunteer work, with his wife Eula, for Stein Hospice, and supported Market Street Treasurers.
   Jack was a faithful member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, where he had been active as a Lecturer, a Eucharistic Minister, member of the Parish Council (past president), the Holy Name Society , performed marriage counseling and had also been the coordinator for The Adoration on Wednesday nights.  He had also been a member of the Jaycees (past State and National Chairman), member of Big Brothers - Big Sisters, the V.I.A., Christian Businessmen, the Knights of Columbus Council #546, the American Legion Post #83, the AMVETS Post # 17 and the VFW Post # 2529.
   He is survived by three sons, Steve G. (Donna J.) Colvin of Monroeville, Mike R. (Rhonda) Colvin of Sandusky and Jack T. (Mary) Colvin of Berlin Heights; three daughters, Teresa M. (Fred) Good of Sandusky, Tracy D. (Rick) Johnson of Union, KY and Chris J. (Scott) Kane of Sandusky; 25 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Dolly Colvin of Vickery; and nieces and nephews
   Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of nearly 49 years, Eula Marie "Angel" (Bonderer) Colvin (July 30, 2003); his son, Randy S. Colvin (March 18, 2010), and brother, Robert Colvin (February 2011).
   Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, August 22, 2017, from 6-9 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, and Wednesday morning, August 23, 2017, from 9 am until time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Holy Angels Catholic Church 428 Tiffin Avenue, Sandusky.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.  Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 83 Color Guard.
   The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870; Stein Hospice Service, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870 or to one's favorite charity.
