Dona J. Didion, 86, of Sandusky, passed away early Saturday morning, March 25, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus. Sandusky, after a brief illness.
Dona was born on May 3, 1930, in Sandusky, OH, the daughter of Clifford and Augusta (Stamm) Remington. She was a graduate of Sandusky High School. In her earlier days, she had worked at Woolworth's and later became a full time mother overlooking her three wonderful boys. Dona enjoyed dancing, playing cards, spending time with friends, and was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She was an outstanding artist, and all who knew her would attest to her pure heart and kind soul. She'll be remembered for always putting others before herself.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and had been involved, in years past, with the Garden Club and other civic activities.
Dona is survived by her two sons, Randal W. (Ana) Didion and Kevin D. (Tamara) Didion, both of Huron, Ohio; 7 grandchildren, Jaime Didion, Scott Didion, Blair Didion, Aaron Voltz, Karl Voltz, Joshua Didion, and Jacob Didion.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Gilbert W. Didion, whom she married on July 9, 1948; her parents; son, Douglas Didion; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Didion; and sister, Geraldine J. (Jack) Ames.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, from 4-7 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Ave, Sandusky. Prayers will be recited Wednesday morning, March 29, at 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave, Sandusky. Father Joe Steinbauer officiating. The family plans to carry out Dona’s wish to be cremated and laid to rest with her husband Gil, in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
